Partnership With Parents/Carers
We pride ourselves on the strong and positive relationships we have with our parents and aim to continue to work in partnership with parents to provide a high standard of care and education for children in our setting.
We acknowledge parents as the primary carers and first educators of their children and recognise the vital role that they play in their child’s life.
We operate an open door policy; parents are welcomed in at any time (providing it is in the best interest of the children). We understand that some parents may need more encouragement or support than other to access nursery life and ensure that no parent feels judged.
We offer a key person system so parents can build a positive relationship and discuss their child’s needs.
If parents have particular skills or an area of expertise that they would like to share we welcome and value their contribution.
Parents are kept fully informed and consulted about all aspects of their child’s care, learning and development and have open access to their child’s developmental records.
The nursery promotes transparent communication and encourages sharing of information between parents and staff members.
Parents have access to, all policies and procedures to enable them to understand fully how our service operates.
Information for parents is regularly updated on the parents’ notice boards.
We have a closed facebook group for current families and employees and this is used to share news, information, activities etc. We actively encourage parents to tell us what they have been doing over the weekend , holidays, events etc.
Parents are informed of how and where to find information throughout nursery. Activities are offered for parents to share with their child at home.
Parents are given an end of term report that informs them of their child’s progress and how they can support their next steps at home. We offer an integrated 2 yr progress report to enable nursery, parents and the child’s health visitor to work in partnership to support and meet the child’s and families needs.
