Nurture Room
Welcome to our Nurture room where we offer a wonderful provision for our children that need a little more support.
We work with small group intervention or on a one to one basis, supporting our children through loose parts play. This enables children to feel free to make choices and decisions on how they wish to use the resources and supports children’s cognitive development through imaginative inspiration. At Woodhouse Nursery we have a huge emphasis on supporting children’s emotional well being and our nurturing room encourages children to explore this at their own pace. The environment can be created to suit the needs of the children and the atmosphere changed to encourage a cosy, warm and inclusive experience.
Staff working in our nurture room offer a higher level of support to groups of children that need a little more help for a small limited period of time. This can be children that have received a Special Educational Needs diagnosis , are on the pathway for further assessment or just need some additional support. Our dedicated team is led by our SENDco who has a wealth of knowledge and experience. She plans small group learning to meet the needs of individual children. Our intervention support team work very closely with outside professionals and families to ensure we are offering the best opportunities for our children.
Our intervention group learning can also take place in other areas of our nursery. We have a sensory room located in our preschool and our outside Language Lodge in our nature garden. Both environments are used to support all children including children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
