Buttercups Room 2-3s Age Group
Welcome to the Buttercups room where the children in have lots of fun! We love to play in the tactile tray, with water, sand, soil and many other things. We love to draw pictures and make lots of sticky and colourful things to take home. We love to read stories and sing songs, and play dressing up in our home corner. We have lots of bright displays to help us learn our coulors, shapes, numbers and letters. We also have lots of fun playing outside on the balancing beams, slides, and playing with the footballs.
Our 2-3's area is set on the ground floor of the nursery and accommodates 16 children.
In this room we provide age appropriate activities, which will encourage the children to develop their physical, intellectual, language, emotional and social skills.
Opportunities will be provided for the children to explore heuristic play and to be creative. A messy play area will give endless opportunity for children to experiment with sand, water and other malleable materials.
Our focus is on learning through play and we endeavour to set challenging but attainable targets for the children in this age group. We will encourage the children to have fun while learning which in turn will boost their self-esteem and confidence.
Staff in the 2-3's age group use a key worker system and will work closely with parents, carers and children providing regular feedback on your child's progress and development.
A key worker system is used in this age group and weekly planning incorporates group time to enable the key workers to plan appropriate challenging activities to help develop the children in their group. Regular progress reports are shared with parents/carers on their child's development.
We lead a talented team of professional childcare practitioners. We have amazing team spirit which makes our nursery a great place to learn and work. If you would like to find out more then book an appointment to look around the nursery.
